Description of the meeting and event facilities

The Salone delle Feste or Great Salon was redecorated in the Belle Epoque Style (beautiful period) at the end of the 18th century .. thus creating a “Fin de siècle” atmosphere. French architecture and design were very popular at this time consequently the ceiling is classic “trompe l\'oeil” held erect by tall marble columns and there a literally dozens of stained glass skylights and grand crystal chandeliers. The room alone makes a visit to the hotel worthwhile. Used many times as a ballroom for prestigious gala dinners the room has also witnessed many historical occasions such as a Papal reception and state visits by Europe’s aristocratic and royal elite. It has been used as a set location for a number of Hollywood and European movies – L\'innocente of Luchino Visconti, Ocean’s 12 to name but two.
